Changan goes local – first up, the Alsvin sedan
Changan Motors has officially entered the South African market, kicking things off with its latest sedan, the Alsvin. The Alsvin will be the first vehicle in a five‑model, locally‑built lineup that Changan plans to bring to South Africa.
The rest of the new lineup
Alongside the Alsvin the company is rolling out:
- CS75 Pro – a midsize sporty SUV
- Hunter 2.0 Turbo – a powerful turbodiesel pick‑up truck (“bakkie” in local slang)
- Hunter REEV – a range‑extended electric vehicle version of the bakkie
- Deepal S07 – an all‑electric flagship SUV
All of these models will be manufactured locally, giving South African buyers a full range of Changan cars from sedans to electric SUVs right at home.
