The seventh most affordable seven-seater in South Africa is the Mahindra Scorpio-N. All variants in the lineup run a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel paired with a six-speed automatic. The base model, Z4, is priced at R489 999, while the Z8 L 4×4 Adventure flagship starts at R699 999.
6. Jetour X70 Plus – from R454 900
Jetour’s X70 Plus, priced from R454 900, is the sixth most affordable seven-seater family car in our market. It’s available in two trims – Momentum and Deluxe – and is powered exclusively by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends power to the front wheels, producing 115 kW and 230 N.m.
5. Changan CS75 Pro – from R449 900
One of the newer entrants, the seven-seater Changan CS75 Pro starts at R449 900 for the entry-level CS model. It uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol delivering 138 kW and 300 N.m, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
4. Mitsubishi Xpander – from R365 995
The Mitsubishi Xpander sits at R365 995 and comes in two variants: base and Cross. All models use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 77 kW and 141 N.m. Entry-level trims offer either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic, while the Cross is only available with the automatic.
3. Toyota Rumion – from R307 900
The Toyota Rumion, which got safety upgrades toward the end of 2025, is the third-most affordable seven-seater on the list. Based on the Suzuki Ertiga, it ranges from R307 000 for the five-speed manual-only S model to R403 600 for the TX range-topping model with a four-speed automatic. All models are powered by a 77 kW/138 N.m 1.5-litre engine.
2. Suzuki Ertiga – from R304 000
In base form, the five-speed manual-only GA spec of the Suzuki Ertiga starts at R304 000, making it the second most affordable seven-seater in SA. The line uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-pot delivering 77 kW and 138 N.m. GL spec adds either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic, with GL pricing starting at R344 900 (manual) and R363 900 (automatic).
1. Renault Triber – from R218 999
The most affordable seven-seater on sale in South Africa is the Renault Triber (1.0 Evolution manual), priced from R218 999. That’s just over R85 000 cheaper than its closest rival on this list. It uses a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine across the range, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox up to the Tecno variant. An automated manual transmission (AMT) is exclusive to the Iconic model, which starts at R259 999.
