Changan rolls out the Hunter REEV in South Africa

Changan has just launched its first electric double‑cab bakkie in South Africa – the Hunter REEV (Range‑Extended Electric Vehicle). The new model comes with a full pricing and spec sheet from the Chinese OEM’s local arm, giving South African buyers the details they need to decide.

With the Hunter REEV now on the road, Changan has officially kicked off its South African operations. The local portfolio now features five distinct lines:
- Alsvin – a practical sedan.
- CS75 Pro – a midsize SUV that we had the chance to test in an exclusive first‑South‑Africa drive.
- Hunter – the original turbodiesel bakkie.
- Deepal S07 – a fully electric SUV.
- Hunter REEV – the new double‑cab, electric‑powered bakkie highlighted above.
This lineup marks the brand’s broad move into the South African market, pairing traditional diesel power with a growing electric range.
