Huawei Mate X7 set to launch next month with new camera tweaks and Kirin 9030 chip
Just like the Mate 80 series, the Huawei Mate X7 foldable is expected to hit the market next month. Hints emerging from a fresh leak say the new phone will bring upgraded camera gear and the powerful Kirin 9030 processor.
A trusted tipster – who posted on Weibo – shared first‑hand details on the notebook‑shaped dock of the Mate X7, whose internal codename is Delphi.
Five fresh colours and a bigger screen
The leak shows the new folding phone will come in black, purple, red, blue and white. It will also feature a larger 7.95‑inch LTPO + UTG display.
By comparison, the Mate X6 launched with a 7.93‑inch panel that runs at 2440 × 2240 pixels, 1800 nits peak brightness, a 120‑Hz refresh rate and a second‑generation Kunlun Glass that provides better drop and scratch resistance.
Unlike the X6, the X7 will get a UTG (Ultra‑Thin Glass) coating. UTG is a super‑flexible, super‑durable screen material – half the thickness of a human hair – that makes folding smoother and less stressful on the glass.
Better display, larger battery, upgraded camera
With UTG, the Mate X7 should deliver even higher‑quality visuals. It’s also expected to come with a bigger battery, a 5 110 mAh pack, and sharper camera features.
The X6’s camera setup is similar to the Mate 70 line, with new AI photo tools that improve the user experience. The X7 will take this further, offering more user‑friendly photography improvements and a larger battery than its predecessor.
What to expect next month
The device is predicted to debut next month, so keep an eye on how these new specs play out. Will the larger screen, stronger glass, better battery and smarter cameras win fans over the competition? Only time – and the launch – will tell.
