South Africa’s new‑vehicle market kept pushing forward into October 2025. According to data released by the Automotive Business Council of South Africa (naamsa), the country sold 55,956 new cars in October – a solid 7,734 units more than the same month a year earlier, and the highest monthly figure since March 2015.
A month earlier, in September 2025, sales had risen to 54,700 units – a 24.3 % jump over the 44,000 vehicles that changed hands in September 2024. This steady climb marks a strong rebound for the automotive industry after the disruptions of the past year.
