A sleek grey Polo just rolled off the assembly line at Volkswagen’s Kariega plant in the Eastern Cape, marking the production of the company’s 2 millionth Polo. This achievement follows the 500 000th current‑generation Polo and the three‑millionth vehicle built at the same facility. By hitting two million Polos a year before the 30th anniversary of Polo production in South Africa, Volkswagen Group Africa celebrated a major milestone in the brand’s long‑standing local manufacturing heritage.
