What’s new from BYD this year?
In September 2025, BYD introduced the Dolphin Surf, a tiny all‑electric hatchback that became one of the most affordable EVs on the South African market. Follow‑up to that success, BYD has now brought the Sealion 5 plug‑in hybrid to South Africa.
The Sealion 5 is offered in two flavours:

Both trims combine a gasoline engine with a battery‑powered electric drive to offer a flexible and economical driving experience.
