Pretoria, South Africa – Advocate Teffo, known for his bold courtroom presence, has reignited public discourse with shocking revelations on the MacG Podcast. Declaring that Senzo Meyiwa’s death was not a robbery, but a fatal mistake by Kelly Khumalo, Teffo challenges the official narrative, implicating high-profile individuals and exposing deep cracks in South Africa’s justice system.

Teffo insisted that Khumalo was never meant to be caught in the crossfire but had connections to the firearm used. He also dropped an explosive claim — an arrest warrant for Khumalo dated October 2020 remains unexecuted, suggesting systemic shielding of key suspects.

Cartels, Corruption, and a System at War

Teffo didn’t stop at the courtroom. He leveled direct accusations at police top brass, claiming that former Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela supplied drugs, aligning with recent exposés by KZN Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. According to Teffo, this ties back to a 2019 drug turf war involving then-Minister Bheki Cele and Commissioner Khehla Sitole.

He described a dramatic container bust at Durban Harbour, where Cele allegedly hid a South American cocaine shipment before Sitole retrieved it — leading to Sitole’s dismissal. “The minister had the whole thing now on him,” Teffo said, alleging Cele supplied cartels through ports.

Named enemies in SAPS include Major General Collins Hendriks, Brigadier Dennis Bus, and others, whom Teffo accused of racism and corruption. He claimed they conspired to dismantle his influence as a unionist who once reinstated unfairly dismissed officers.

Imprisonment, Poison, and Bribery

Teffo recounted his 17-month prison ordeal from August 2023 to December 2024, where he was detained for 84 days without charge. He later faced a conviction for attempted assault, but claims the real aim was to silence him.

In a chilling twist, he alleged an attempt to poison him through fast food in prison, causing severe health issues. Teffo claims he was offered R45 million, later R100 million, to abandon the case — but refused.

He accuses political figures including Bheki Cele, Ronald Lamola, and EFF leader Julius Malema of pressuring the judiciary to keep him incarcerated. Malema, a member of the Judicial Services Commission, once labelled him “the worst lawyer,” prompting Teffo to open a case for judicial interference.

Toll on Family and Personal Life

His advocacy has come at a high personal cost. Teffo’s children were expelled from private school, and his family was evicted in June 2025 over rent arrears. His office assets remain seized over unpaid debts from delayed SAPS payments.

Teffo’s brother’s death on the same date as Meyiwa’s marked an emotional blow. Still, he draws strength from his faith. “God hates the cowards,” he said. “I will go through.”

Senzo Trial: A Courtroom Farce?

Teffo continues to challenge the legitimacy of the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, calling it a “sham” orchestrated for public consumption. He claims defence lawyers were paid R7 million not to challenge the presiding judge, Ratha Mokgoatlheng.

He plans to testify at a newly established judicial commission led by Deputy Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, saying, “Let God make me to be remembered the way it will please God.”

Public support is trickling in via a BackaBuddy campaign, but the bigger question remains: will Teffo’s testimony finally crack the case wide open?
