Ford South Africa has announced that the 2.0 BiT diesel engine will no longer be offered on its popular Ranger and Everest models from 2026 onward.
In a move that comes just weeks after the company rolled out a broader power‑train refresh for the Ranger and Everest, Ford SA revealed that several new models will now be powered by a 3.0‑litre V6 turbo‑diesel. In addition, the brand will introduce the 222 kW EcoBoost 2.3‑litre four‑cylinder turbo‑petrol engine – a powerplant that has recently appeared on the Volkswagen Amarok.
The changes are part of Ford’s strategy to streamline its engine options while offering more powerful and efficient choices to customers in South Africa. Stay tuned for further details on the exact models and trim levels that will receive these new engines.
