Toyota’s LFA Concept: the electric successor to the iconic LFA
Toyota Motor Corporation just pulled back the curtain on its electric future—introducing the LFA Concept, a battery‑electric super‑sportscar that carries forward the legendary legacy of the original LFA.
The reveal came at the 2025 Quail Motorsport Gathering and the Japan Mobility Show, where the car was first billed as the Lexus Sport Concept. Now it has been given a definitive name: LFA Concept.
A trio of next‑gen sportscar ideas
The LFA Concept is part of a trio of next‑generation sports cars that Toyota is developing for the South African market, alongside the confirmed Toyota GR GT. All three models share three core design pillars:
- Low centre of gravity – to keep them planted in the corners.
- Aerodynamic efficiency – slicing the air for speed and power.
- Rigid, lightweight construction – achieved through an all‑aluminium chassis.
From V10 to the future of performance
Although it adopts the same LFA name as the much‑cited V10‑powered original, the new concept takes a bold step: it is fully electric. The LFA Concept signals Lexus’s entry into the era of all‑electric performance cars, offering the same excitement and prestige as its predecessor—just with a greener powertrain.
Stay tuned for more details on range, power and launch dates, as Toyota rolls out the next chapter in its high‑performance lineup.
