Following a teaser released in March 2026, Mitsubishi has officially revealed the Triton Raider. Positioned as the new flagship derivative in Australia, this version is more off-road focused and was developed with Premcar.

The rally-inspired Triton features uprated front and rear suspension with an upgraded damper package. It rides on 18-inch ROH Assault wheels wrapped in Bridgestone AT002 all-terrain tyres. Thanks to these upgrades, the front ride height is up 25 mm and the rear up 10 mm, while the Raider is 20 mm wider than the standard model. It also comes with extra underbody protection for added off-road protection.

Inside, the Triton Raider greets you with black leather upholstery and orange contrast stitching. The word “Raider” is embroidered on the headrests, and a Raider badge sits on the centre console.

Under the skin, the Raider uses Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which, as noted in a CARmag feature, will be added to our market’s Triton lineup this year. The twin-turbo oil-burner develops 150 kW and 470 N.m of torque — an increase of 15 kW and 40 N.m over the single-turbo unit. Power is sent to the road via Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II four-wheel drivetrain, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Whether this Triton will reach South Africa remains to be seen. Another Australian-tuned bakkie has already been confirmed for SA in 2026: the VW Amarok Walkinshaw.
