Porsche unveils its first all‑electric Cayenne, turbocharged version clocking up to 850 kW

By Marius Boonzaier – 20 Nov 2025

Porsche has officially dropped the wraps on its new electric SUVs. The brand’s first emissions‑free series‑production Cayenne comes in two flavours – the standard Cayenne and the high‑performance Turbo – both powered by a twin‑motor layout that delivers jaw‑dropping power and range.

Two power plants, two rally‑speed figures

Standard Cayenne

  • Twin electric motors: 300 kW in normal mode, 325 kW with launch control
  • Peak torque: 825 Nm on tap
  • 0–100 km/h: 4.8 s
  • Top speed: 230 km/h

Turbo edition

  • Baseline output: 630 kW
  • Launch control lifts the output to a max of 850 kW
  • Peak torque: 1,500 Nm
  • 0–100 km/h: 2.5 s – a full‑blown sprint for a luxury SUV
  • Top speed: 260 km/h

Energy recovery that rivals racing cars

Porsche says the Cayenne Electric can harvest up to 600 W of recuperative power – a level seen only in Formula E. Day‑to‑day, about 97 % of braking is handled by the electric motors, making the mechanical brakes seldom needed. For Turbo buyers who want a touch more punch, the optional Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system can be added.

Battery, range and super‑fast charging

  • Battery: 113 kWh high‑voltage pack
  • WLTP range: 642 km (Cayenne) and 623 km (Turbo)
  • 800 V architecture allows charging at 390 kW (up to 400 kW in certain conditions)
  • A 10 % to 80 % charge takes under 16 minutes
  • 10‑minute DC charge adds 325 km to the Cayenne, 315 km to the Turbo

First Porsche to support wireless charging

The electric Cayenne can also be wired‑free. An 11 kW wireless charger starts automatically when the car is parked on a flat charging plate, taking the place of a conventional wall box.

Active aerodynamics help the battery

The battery’s big advantage is a host of active aero features – movable cooling flaps at the front, a roof‑mounted adaptive rear spoiler, and for the Turbo, additional active blades beside the rear bumper. Together, they improve airflow and help eke out extra range.

Size matters

  • Length: 4 985 mm (55 mm longer than the ICE Cayenne)
  • Width: 1 980 mm
  • Height: 1 674 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3 023 mm (almost 130 mm longer than the internal‑combustion sibling)

Porsche’s new Cayenne electric line up signals a clear shift toward a fully energy‑free future – blending brand‑signature performance with cutting‑edge technology in a package that’s both powerful and practical.
