Suzuki Across Compact SUV Confirmed for SA

Suzuki Auto South Africa has officially announced that the new Across compact SUV will be available in the country in 2026. While the model is marketed overseas as the Victoris, the South African version will carry the Across name.
Size and Design
- Length: 4 360 mm – 15 mm longer than the Grand Vitara.
- Height: 1 655 mm – slightly taller than the Vitara (1 645 mm).
- Width & wheel‑base: both match the Grand Vitara – 1 795 mm wide and 2 600 mm wheel‑base.

Powertrain
The Across debuts a 1.5‑litre, four‑cylinder petrol engine that brings Suzuki’s 12‑V Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology to the table. The system features an integrated starter‑generator and a lithium‑ion battery for better fuel efficiency, coupled with a Toyota‑sourced “Strong Hybrid” setup.
- Output: 75.8 kW (102 hp) and 139 Nm of torque.
- Engine size: 1 462 cm³.
- Powerband: 75.8 kW available from 6 000 rpm; torque from 4 300 rpm.
- Transmission options: a five‑speed manual or a six‑speed automatic that can be paired with front‑wheel drive or Suzuki’s AllGrip Select all‑wheel drive.

Interior Highlights
Inside, the Across offers a premium feel with a range of high‑end features:
- 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster.
- 10.1‑inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Alexa Auto Voice AI.
- Eight‑speaker Harman‑Infinity audio system supporting Dolby Atmos 5.1 surround sound.
- 64‑hue ambient lighting.
- Wireless phone charging, 360‑degree surround‑view camera, front and rear park‑distance sensors, and a panoramic sunroof.
- The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable in eight directions and ventilated.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Standard safety equipment includes six airbags and a comprehensive ADAS package that covers:
- Adaptive cruise control.
- Lane‑keep assist.
- Blind‑spot monitoring.
- Rear cross‑traffic alert.
Suzuki Across SA Launch Date
The vehicle will be produced at Suzuki’s Kharkhoda plant in Haryana, India, and is set to roll out in South Africa in 2026. An exact launch date has not yet been confirmed by Suzuki’s local team.
