Toyota drops hint on the next chapter of its high‑performance line – the GR GT

Toyota has already sent a teaser out for the GR GT, signalling what’s next for the brand’s racing‑inspired lineup. A slick commercial featuring the new model has been released, giving fans a first look before the formal world unveiling.
This year has already been a busy one for the Japanese automaker, with several new models earmarked for the 2026 lineup in South Africa. The refreshed RAV4 is set to hit the market in the first half of 2026, while the much‑anticipated Land Cruiser FJ will arrive in the second quarter of the same year. A brand‑new Hilux, also destined for South Africa, rounds out the sedan‑and‑truck‑heavy program.
However, Toyota’s focus isn’t limited to SUVs and pickups. By the end of 2025, the company plans to reveal the GR GT in full, following the teaser commercial. The GR GT will continue Toyota’s legacy of high‑performance vehicles, promising another exciting option for enthusiasts worldwide.
