Android 16 could soon let you design your own Calling Card

Android 16 smartphone users may soon be able to customise their Calling Cards to look exactly the way they want. The feature has been around on some devices for a while, but it never let users pick how their own contact card appears to others.

Apple’s iOS 17 launched Contact Posters, a fun way to personalise your digital ID and decide how you show up on someone’s screen when they call you. Google has followed suit this year, introducing Calling Cards with Android 16, and is now adding a new “customise” option.

In the latest public beta of the Google Phone app (version 197.0.821392025) a brand‑new “My Calling Card” screen appears in the settings. It lets you choose how your own card looks when you make or receive a call.

The previous limitation was that users could tailor how others’ cards appear, but not their own. Google is correcting that with the new feature, giving you full control over your visual identity on the device.

Key points:
My Calling Card [New] – Edit how you appear when you make or receive calls.
Contact Calling Card – Adjust how you see your contact’s card when they call you.

At the moment the feature isn’t fully functional, but Google is expected to roll it out officially in the Contacts Settings soon. Keep an eye on the stable Android 16 update for the final details.
