Honor’s Magic 8: A Design and Software Hit, Says Chief Imaging Engineer
Honor Chief Imaging Engineer Luo Wei has just dropped a new post on Weibo highlighting how the brand’s new Magic 8 flagship power‑up meets every design aim and software requirement the company set out for it. “It’s not just a phone – it’s a perfect mix of beauty and cutting‑edge technology,” Luo says.
What’s new in the Magic 8?
Luo explains that the upgrade process started with a fresh look and fresh software. The team uncoupled the Camera and Gallery apps, giving photographers and AI‑photo‑editors more room to work. “It’s a cleaner, faster experience for every shot,” he says.
“As the first flagship produced after the launch of our imaging department, this Magic 8 largely satisfies our design goals. We still have a few small bugs, but we’ll fix them fast,” says Luo.
MagicOS 10 and the smarter YOYO assistant
Since the rollout of MagicOS 10, Honor has added a host of new features. The YOYO assistant, for instance, can now handle multiple requests with a single command – from shop shopping to ticket booking to ordering a meal.
Future plans
The executive notes that the Magic 8 is only the beginning. Honor will continue to refine its gadgets in the next few years, backed by heroic new tech both inside and outside the phone. Upcoming software updates will boost the internal power, while external upgrades will open a fresh experience for users.
