Huawei launches the MatePad Mini “Collector’s Edition” – now on sale

Huawei’s newest MatePad Mini has rolled out a range of special editions, and the much‑awaited Collector’s Edition is finally available for purchase. The tablet comes in a striking rich‑red finish, paired with a premium leather case that gives it an unmistakably luxurious look and feel.

Release and variants

The MatePad Mini was unveiled on Sept 4, with several variants announced: Reading (Ink + Paper), PaperMatte, Soft Light Cloud, and more. While most of these models are already on the market, the Collector’s Edition is the first exclusive variant to hit the shelves.

Pricing

The Collector’s Edition starts at ¥5,999. Some retailers, however, are offering it for ¥5,495.88 after applying China’s subsidy scheme.

Storage options

The tablet comes in two storage configurations, each boasting a hefty 16 GB of RAM:

  • 16 GB + 512 GB – ¥5,999
  • 16 GB + 1 TB – ¥6,499

Both versions are equipped with the same PaperMatte screen.

Design details

Unlike the regular MatePad Mini, the back cover of the Collector’s Edition features a plain red leather finish, similar to Huawei’s Ultimate Design lineup. Golden trim runs along the edges and frames the camera module, adding a touch of elegance. The device even supports a stylus and comes with a matching plain leather case.

Key specifications

Display: 8.8‑inch OLED, 120 Hz refresh rate, 2560 × 1600 resolution.
Body: Smaller than the Apple iPad Mini but with a wider viewing angle.
Chipset: Kirin 9010 5G (the SIM‑card variant lets you make and receive calls).
Battery: 6,400 mAh with 66 W fast‑charge support, ensuring long hours of use.

The rest of the internals—screen, battery, cameras—mirror those of the standard MatePad Mini.
