Massive battery, minimal charging stress

Xiaomi has just crashed India’s budget-5G scene with its brand-new Redmi 15 5G, and the headline number is impossible to ignore: a whopping 7000 mAh battery that the company swears can stretch well past two full days.

The price tag – no nasty surprises

Prices start at just ₹11,999 (4 GB + 128 GB), climb to ₹13,999 (6 GB + 128 GB) and top out at ₹16,999 (8 GB + 256 GB). All three variants will be available on Amazon, the Mi India website, and Mi Home stores from 10 July.

Power, speed and that 5G stamp

Under the hood it’s Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip paired with either 4, 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage is expandable up to 1 TB via microSD. Dual-SIM 5G is baked in, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.Play Store icon

Screen time just got sweeter

The front panel is a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD running at a silky 120 Hz. Peak brightness hits 650 nits, Gorilla Glass 3 keeps scratches at bay, and a tiny punch-hole selfie cam (8 MP) barely distracts from the action.

Camera cred – 50 MP main star

Flip it over and you’ll find a dual camera: 50 MP primary plus a basic 2 MP depth sensor for portrait shots. Video goes up to 1080p/30 fps, and Xiaomi’s tossed in a few AI scene modes to help first-time phone photographers out.Play Store icon

Big battery, tiny wait

Charging that 7000 mAh cell is via a USB-C port with 18 W fast-charge in the box. Xiaomi claims 29 hours of streaming and 41 days of standby – numbers we’ll happily test.

Built to shrug-off daily life

A side-mounted fingerprint reader sits inside the power button, while a 3.5 mm headphone jack, splash-proof IP52 rating and a plastic unibody finish keep things practical. Colour choices: Moonlight Silver, Eclipse Black and Twilight Blue.Download icon

Software and the extras

It launches on Android 14 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14. A “no-ad” promise is on the way via a future OTA, and users get two major Android versions plus four years of security patches.

  • ₹1,000 instant discount via ICICI Bank, HDFC and Axis cards
  • Up to ₹1,000 extra for trade-in on Cashify
