Forming part of Ford’s revised local Everest lineup, the Blue Oval brand’s SA arm is set to introduce a Tremor variant of its Ranger-based seven-seater SUV to our market. Billed as the “ultimate” family-focused adventure vehicle, the Everest Tremor uses Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine, delivering 184 kW and 600 N.m of torque – the latter routed to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
To boost its adventure-ready credentials, the Everest Tremor features “specially developed” suspension with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers and new springs. The Tremor package also includes General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres. Thanks to the suspension and tyres, the Everest Tremor sits 26 mm higher than the standard model. It also adds a Rock Crawl drive mode to optimise traction and momentum on loose and rocky surfaces. In addition to the off-road enhancements, Tremor models gain a steel bash plate and heavy-duty side steps.
Ford Everest Tremor SA launch date
Ford SA has confirmed the Everest Tremor will launch in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2026. Pricing will be revealed closer to the Everest Tremor’s local introduction.

“We are delighted to bring the popular Tremor variant into our Everest lineup later this year. The addition of the Everest Tremor to this already popular range of SUVs answers customer demand for a more off-road-capable model, due in part to the success of the equivalent Ranger Tremor,” said Sunil Sewmohan, Director of Product Marketing, Ford South Africa.
Sewmohan added, “The Everest Tremor builds on the exceptional comfort, space, refinement and high-tech features offered in the Everest, while enabling adventurous owners to go further and conquer more challenging off-road terrain with confidence.”
