Google is reportedly cooking up a new multitasking tool for Android tablets called “Bubble Anything.” It’s already been spotted in the Canary 2510 build, shipping big‑screen‑friendly upgrades that could change the way you use your tablet.
What’s the buzz?
The feature first made its appearance with the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2. It was slated to go live with Android 16, but Google left it off the official release for reasons that are still unclear. Some speculate the tech wasn’t fully ready yet.
Now, a sneak peek in the latest Canary 2510 tells us it’s getting a second look. The goal? Making multitasking on tablets as smooth as it is on phones.
How it works
With Bubble Anything, you can turn any app into a floating bubble. Just drag an app icon from one of the screen’s bottom corners—every tap sprouts a small, movable window that stays on top of whatever you’re doing.
Android already lets you bubble chats, but this takes it a notch higher: you can bubble full‑screen apps, pin them, drag them around and still use other apps underneath. Quit? No need to close the original app—just snap it back to the edge or slide it off the screen.
First‑time users will see a short tutorial pop up, pointing out the new drag‑and‑drop trick.
What to expect
Google hasn’t announced an official launch date, but the addition could soon become a staple for large‑screen devices, giving tablet users a more flexible way to juggle multiple tasks.
