Ferrari has just dropped the anticipation‑inducing reveal of the SC40, a brand‑new one‑off car that pays homage to the legendary F40. With a fresh pair of prototypes strutting the floors of its Special Projects programme, the SC40 looks to blend historic flair with modern performance.
A nod to the past, built for the future
The SC40 is based on the current 296 GTB platform – the same chassis that was shown off to the media in Cape Town back in 2025. The special‑edition gets a plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain: a 2.9‑litre turbo‑charged V6, an eight‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox, and a battery‑driven electric motor pulling energy from a high‑voltage 7.45 kWh pack. The result? A quick, punchy ride that also offers an eco‑friendly perk.
