What’s new about the FJ Cruiser?
Toyota has dropped the curtain on its latest version of the iconic FJ Cruiser. Built on the same IMV platform that powers the rugged Hilux, the updated model looks and feels sharper than ever.
Size that stands out
- Length: 4,575 mm
- Width: 1,855 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,580 mm – 60 mm shorter than the Corolla Cross and 110 mm shorter than the new RAV4 sold in South Africa.
- Height: 1,960 mm – almost as tall as the Land Cruiser 300 (1,955 mm) and 25 mm higher than the Land Cruiser Prado (1,935 mm).
Because of its taller stance, the FJ Cruiser fits comfortably between the compact Corolla Cross and the larger RAV4, giving it a more commanding presence on the road.
Platform pedigree
The IMV (Innovative Modular Vehicle) foundation means the FJ Cruiser inherits the proven engineering behind the Hilux. It offers durability and off‑road capability while sporting updated styling that keeps the 2025 \”classic meets modern\” vibe.
Inside the new model
- Design: Fresh grille, sharper lines, and upgraded LED lighting give the FJ Cruiser a bold new look.
- Interior: Modern infotainment, improved seating and a more spacious cabin.
- Performance: (Details pending – stay tuned for engine specs and fuel efficiency figures.)
