Xiaomi to Fix Four Big Bugs in the Next HyperOS Update
Xiaomi has confirmed that the latest HyperOS update will tackle some of the most stubborn problems users have reported on its flagship and mid‑range phones. Devices such as the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Redmi Note 14 5G will get targeted optimisations to boost performance and stability.
What the Update Will Fix
The company’s Weekly Bug Report lists four key issues that were highlighted by customers and found during internal testing. Xiaomi has pledged to resolve these bugs in an upcoming Over‑The‑Air (OTA) release.
| Bug | Device | Problem | Fix Planned |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camera freeze (Xiaomi 14 Ultra) | Xiaomi 14 Ultra | Camera app occasionally locks during long shoots or when switching modes | Software patch that synchronises camera processes – ready for rollout |
| Call audio trouble (Redmi Note 14 5G) | Redmi Note 14 5G | Users report being unable to hear callers during voice calls | Fix targets the VoLTE module – part of next firmware update |
| Random shutdown (Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi Pad 7, Xiaomi 14T Pro) | Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi Pad 7, Xiaomi 14T Pro | Devices unexpectedly power off due to memory‑management glitches | Patch already passed internal QA and will ship via OTA |
| Unstable 5G signal (Xiaomi 15T) | Xiaomi 15T | Short‑lived loss of 5G connectivity in some areas | Modem‑driver update included in HyperOS package |
When South African Users Can Expect the Update
These improvements are part of Xiaomi’s ongoing effort to make HyperOS run smoother across its device lineup. The OTA updates will go live in stages – starting with Chinese models before reaching users worldwide. For South Africans, this means you can expect the patch a bit later, but it will arrive free of charge, so no extra cost to you.
Xiaomi continues to prioritise user experience by quickly addressing community‑reported problems through its MIUI & HyperOS Weekly Feedback programme. Keep an eye on your phone’s update notifications for the latest fix.
