Featuring subtle exterior tweaks and fresh tech, Mazda South Africa says the 2026 Mazda2 is now available here. A key highlight is a “more comprehensively equipped” Active edition, which opens the lineup. Here’s what’s changed.

Active gets a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Mazda’s MZD Connect, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Electrically folding wing mirrors are also fitted. The Active spec rides on new two-tone 15-inch steel wheels and adds subtle yellow exterior accents at the front and rear.

The Dynamic mid-spec rolls on 15-inch Silver Metallic alloy wheels. Inside, the steering wheel gains leather trim. Cruise control and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror are included as standard.

At the top, the Individual grade adds keyless entry, a head-up display, wireless charging, automatic climate control, a reverse-view camera backed by rear park distance sensors, red-and-black interior trim, and 16-inch machine-cut alloys.

The updated local Mazda2 lineup now spans three trims, with prices starting at R336 000 for the Active and rising to R417 300 for the flagship Individual. The Dynamic sits in between at R371 300. All three come with a three-year or unlimited km service plan and a five-year or unlimited km warranty.

– Mazda2 1.5 Dynamic AT — R371 300
– Mazda2 1.5 Individual AT — R417 300

Under the hood, there’s a single engine option across the range: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol producing 85 kW and 148 N.m of torque (peak outputs at 6,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm). The base Active is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the Dynamic and Individual use a front-wheel-drive automatic with six speeds. Mazda claims average fuel consumption of 5.7 L/100 km for the manual and 6.0 L/100 km for the automatic.
