Billed by Lexus as the “Driving Lounge,” the Japanese luxury maker has revealed the TZ, an all-electric three-row SUV that sits at the top of the brand’s BEV lineup. The TZ’s DIRECT4 all-wheel drivetrain uses two eAxles, delivering a combined 300 kW and 537 Nm of torque. The 2,630 kg SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, but Lexus hasn’t quoted a top speed yet.

The TZ is equipped with a 95.82 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a claimed driving range of up to 530 km on a full charge. Lexus says the TZ can recharge from 10-80% in about 35 minutes at a 150 kW DC fast charger. While an official energy consumption figure hasn’t been released, based on the claimed range, battery size and a drag coefficient of 0.27, the TZ should average around 18.1 kWh/100 km.

The Lexus TZ measures 5,100 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,705 mm in height; making it just a touch shorter but similarly sized to the current-generation LX. It also has a longer wheelbase than the LX—3,050 mm versus 2,850 mm. Lexus claims a boot capacity of 290 litres with all three rows upright, increasing to 2,017 litres when both the second and third rows are folded away.

The Lexus TZ is scheduled to make its market debut in Europe and Japan in 2027.
